Haus. Kunst. Mitte. is an independent exhibition space for contemporary art in the heart of Berlin – run by a charitable foundation with no commercial agenda.
Berlin has no art gallery in the traditional sense. We are filling this gap with generous exhibition space and professional standards.
Our programme is guided by an intersectional feminist approach. We champion diversity, participation and artistic freedom, and focus on voices that are not supported by the art market. In doing so, we deliberately prioritise traditional media – painting, sculpture, photography, installation – because we believe these forms retain enduring relevance.
Drawing on Berlin’s diverse contemporary art scene, we develop exhibitions that also attract international attention. At the heart of our programme are curatorial questions that we develop in collaboration with artists and a range of partners – questions that encourage engagement with the social, political and cultural challenges of our time.
Exhibitions and educational programmes foster dialogue between artists, specialist audiences and Berlin’s wider community, and open up access to art for a diverse audience.
Our aim: to create spaces where art broadens perspectives and brings people together.

Haus. Kunst. Mitte. is committed to diverse voices, tolerance, diversity, mutual respect, and consideration as the foundation of a democratic society. We see ourselves as a place where people with different backgrounds and experiences come together and engage with one another.
At Haus. Kunst. Mitte., no form of discriminatory or degrading behavior is tolerated. This includes, among other things, derogatory language, any form of harassment, as well as racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, sexism, transphobia, ableism, queerphobia, classism, and other forms of intersectional discrimination. Incitement to hatred or violence, bullying, and discrimination based on age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or marginalized individuals or groups are also strictly prohibited.
